While there is often overlap, such as when organizational change and strategy are part of one effort, the following are strong examples of projects that were either explicitly “Strategic Planning” or it was a vital and fundamental component of the effort.

Project manager and facilitator for annual strategic planning with company sales business units whereby vision, mission and purpose were defined as well as strategic plans over a multi-year horizon with market/tactical plans for the current budget cycle.   • Consumer Electronics Turnaround. Directed the turnaround recovery of the Bose European Home Entertainment Division across 16 countries in Western Europe as part of a 3-year expatriate Change Management assignment.  Selective Distribution strategy, implementation of new models and processes for conducting field sales, marketing and back office operations. Customized strategy development and implementation for each country. From record losses to record profitability. Director, Project Manager and Strategic Planning Facilitator. Lived in Bad Homburg (Frankfurt), Germany. Became fluent in speaking German. Received a President’s Award for the turnaround of Bose Europe.
  • IHG Global Hotel Turnaround. Led the Asia Pacific region of a global UK hotel company through a significant organizational change and global restructuring turnaround of its business. Project Manager, Executive Facilitator & Change Management Consultant. Over 25% Cost Reduction within 1 year; Led the area President and 20 VPs (Singapore).   • IT Strategic Planning.   • Insurance Process Engineering and Change Management. Harvard RMF/CRICO systems upgrade project. Process Engineering and Change Management Director for a 4 year project to upgrade all major business systems in the company.   • European Restructuring Change Management. Planned and Facilitated a top down European restructuring and change management effort, covering 11 sales/marketing wholly owned subsidiaries, distribution centers and regional manufacturing. Involved a change of senior management, management structure and mandated cost reduction.  Management of a contentious and emotionally charged interpersonal situation between peer executives during a 14 day offsite meeting.
  • Executive Scorecard Project. One of two process facilitators for a company’s project to identify and define a set of the most important leading and lagging indicators across the company.  A project involving the 30 most senior managers in the company split into 6 parallel teams. (Bose)
