MacNeil Consulting starts with Wayne MacNeil, an MBA and PMP with more than 20 years experience as a management consultant and mid level executive. Wayne has worked with executive management and senior leaders in Sales, IT, HR, Finance and other areas in roles associated with executive priorities including developing and driving strategy, addressing critical problems, managing large organizational change, establishing new sales business organizations, turnaround of poorly performing business areas, strategic programs management, project management and organizational development including leadership development programs and culture change initiatives.
Wayne has held Director level positions at Bose Corporation, Oracle Corporation, Deutsche Bank and Harvard Risk Management Foundation/ Controlled Risk Insurance Company. Following an MBA, Wayne worked as a business and systems consultant at Accenture (then Andersen Consulting) for 5 years. He established and led the Business Consulting Group to executives at Bose Corporation (for 8 years) where this had global responsibilities. Following Bose, Wayne worked as a Director in Deutsche Bank, as GM of a Joint Venture with SAP. He later also worked for Fujitsu Consulting to lead organizational change efforts. Wayne has been a lead consultant for large organizational change engagements at Whirlpool Corporation, Intercontinental Hotels Group and Merck Pharmaceutical as well as at Bose Corporation. Wayne led the successful turnaround management of Bose European business across 15 countries (3 years as expat director living in Germany), resulting in record profitability, and also established Bose Europe’s Retail Direct Sales Division (factory outlet stores). He has managed many programs and projects to improve business performance including work in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
When additional project consultants are needed, Wayne draws from an independent network of highly experienced management consultants that have frequently worked with each other in the past. These include prior consulting employees, ex-colleagues and associates from other in-common consulting engagements. Wayne also has sub-contractor relationships with other consulting firms which can be leveraged for particular project skill set requirements.
Many of the management consulting skills that MacNeil Consulting offers work well in almost any industry and Wayne has consulted in many industries with them including High Tech, Healthcare and Healthcare Insurance, Financial Services, Software, Management Consulting, Consumer Electronics, Pharmaceutical, Engineering/Manufacturing and Hospitality.
Wayne studied group psychology and blends a style of hard and soft management techniques. He has been called the “business doctor” and often uses innovative approaches tailored to the specific situation. Although I draw from experience and many methodologies, I prefer to think of each consulting engagement as unique and requiring a tailored solution that fits the situation and the people who are involved. Part of the magic has always been an ability to motivate people and build effective management coalitions. I seem to have an strong natural ability to adapt to cultures and work well with people. I’ve even been told on numerous occasions by people in Europe and Asia, in a complimentary way, that I didn’t seem like an American to them.
His continuing education includes certifications in Project Management, Organizational Change Management, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Total Quality Management and many areas of technology. He is a certified Master Facilitator and also has a Massachusetts teaching certification in Business.
