- Pharmaceutical Organization Re-Design & Leadership Brand Development. OD restructuring of the Health, Environment & Safety Division. One of two senior consultants who defined and facilitated a process for transformational restructuring of a significant corporate division in the wake of a serious issue that had impacted the company. (Merck Pharmaceutical) Whitehouse Station, NJ.
- IHG Global Hotel Turnaround. Led the Asia Pacific region of a global UK hotel company through a significant organizational change and global restructuring turnaround of its business. Project Manager, Executive Facilitator & Change Management Consultant. Over 25% Cost Reduction within 1 year; Led the area President and 20 VPs (Singapore). - Banking Systems Development Mega Project. Designed 25% of a commercial loan servicing system for a large West Coast bank. Led a 15-person sub-team on a 2 yr+ 150 person consulting engagement. Designed purchased packages and all past due processing. Also defined and set up the project’s Systems Testing environment. Assisted the DBA in initial setup of database architecture. - MRO Supply Chain Joint Venture Start Up. Managing Director for a NYC based U.S. start up of a B2B eCommerce Supply Chain joint venture of two global German companies (Deutsche Bank and SAP). NYC, Frankfurt & Walldorf, Germany. An office MRO eMarket featuring SAP/Commerce One technology, a collaborative supply chain concept within a comprehensive eProcurement business model. Managed set up of the U.S. operation. Frequently worked with the senior management team in Germany.
- SAP Systems Change Management Project Manager for a large SAP ERP Implementation across the 3 largest U.S. divisions of the company. Served as the process reengineering ‘guru’ providing leadership and process expertise to reengineering teams while also leading the organization design/ change management team and sitting on the Executive Steering Committee. Received a President’s Award in 1996 for efforts in leading a large multi-year SAP implementation across three of Bose largest U.S. divisions.
- Oracle Sales Business Development. Oracle Exadata Product (Database machine). Business Pre-sales lead for Oracle’s only N. American Exadata Task Force. Business role in Development of marketing plan, detailed value proposition, go to market presentations, customer sales conferences and initial pre-sales engagements to the Capital Markets. Developed bake off technical and financial comparisons with competitive products including Neteeza, IBM and Teradata.
- Insurance Process Engineering and Change Management. Harvard RMF/CRICO systems upgrade project. Process Engineering and Change Management Director for a 4 year project to upgrade all major business systems in the company. Strategic planning alignment, executive surveys, Organizational Change Management Education, Current state process decomposition, requirements identification, make vs buy analysis, underwriting software search. - Retail Sales Division Start Up. Directed and managed the start of the European BOSE Retail Direct Division. From green field to operating business. Market studies, Site selection, lease contract, business infrastructure, processes and financial models, all operations, hiring, compensation models, POS systems. Enabled by breakthrough financial presentation to BAA MacArthur Glen resulting in a favorable leasing agreement. First operations in Cheshire Oaks, near Manchester / Liverpool, UK.
- Five Year Consumer Electronics New Products Plan. Project Manager and Process Facilitator for a team of the President and selected VPs in creating a consumer electronic company’s first five-year Aggregate New Products Plan as well as a new products planning process, across research, engineering and marketing functions of the company. - Executive Teamwork Intervention at the request of the company President to address issues between VPs in the executive group reporting to him. (Bose)
- Oracle Sales Business Development. Developer of Oracle’s Financial Master Calculator. An ROI financial tool used by Oracle N. America to develop business case financial models in support of multi year licensing agreements and negotiations. Developed significant new versions of Master Calculator, taught use of the tool and proved the value of the tool in increasing sales revenue and communicating ROI value effectively with C Level decision makers. Integrated the tool with Crystal Ball for ‘Monte Carlo’ simulations.
- Oracle Sales Business Development. Developer of Oracle’s Unlimited Licensing Agreement Value Assessment Calculator. A financial tool that quantified value received from an existing Oracle agreement. The tool provided customers with an assessment of how much $ value they were receiving from their Oracle license vs expectations, the products adoption rate vs deployment norms and recommendations for improving value received. Developed the calculator, the engagement process and value proposal for marketing to CIOs. This product was a win-win for both Oracle and their customers.
- Oracle Sales Business Development. “Next Generation Oracle Solution Architect Toolbox” Project. Led a project to analyse and evaluate 147 technology and financial tools used by Solution Architects and Insight Program Directors in Oracle’s North American Technology Organization during the Pre-Sales process. Scope included all of Oracle’s database and middleware products. The project included identification of missing tool gaps, tool ratings and recommendations for upgrades and end of life decisions.
- European Restructuring Change Management. Planned and Facilitated a top down European restructuring and change management effort, covering 11 sales/marketing wholly owned subsidiaries, distribution centers and regional manufacturing. Involved a change of senior management, management structure and mandated cost reduction. Management of a contentious and emotionally charged interpersonal situation between peer executives during a 14 day offsite meeting.
- Systems Implementation Project Recovery. Managed the successful recovery of a large ” runaway” systems development project for an East Coast beverage distributor. Cognos Sales & Distribution System. Assigned to the project after the customer threatened legal action. Project Manager. (Accenture /United Liquors)
- Technology Plan. Created a comprehensive technology plan for a large retailer and multinational producer of fashion apparel operating in MA and Singapore. Focused on Integrating design and production between MA and Singapore. Project Manager. (MAST Industries, The Limited Group)
- New Company Technology Plan. Planned the I/S function for a Fortune 500 divestiture (new company start up) with multinational operations. Scope included a new HQ & business operations center, 4 manufacturing plants, 2 data centers & migration of data from GTE’s main data center. (Challenger Electrical Equipment Corporation)
- Sales Divisions Strategic Planning. Project manager and facilitator for annual strategic planning with company sales business units whereby vision, mission and purpose were defined as well as strategic plans over a multi-year horizon with market/tactical plans for the current budget cycle. - IT Function Start Up. Planned and Initiated an I/S Dept for a Japanese sales, marketing & distribution subsidiary in Tokyo. Project Manager. Planned data center and systems, hardware negotiations and acquisition, software business requirements and implementation partner selection, IT personnel. 10 months in Tokyo. - Subsidiaries IT Strategic Planning. Project manager and international coordinator for annual IT strategic planning including capital and expense budget preparation with European and Asia Pac subsidiaries. The same business units repeated the planning cycle in subsequent years. (Bose)
- Executive Vision Strategic Planning. One of two process facilitators for a company’s Strategic Vision Project. A forging of the company’s long term vision and values. A project involving the 30 most senior managers in the company split into 6 parallel teams. (Bose)
- Executive Scorecard Project. One of two process facilitators for a company’s project to identify and define a set of the most important leading and lagging indicators across the company. A project involving the 30 most senior managers in the company split into 6 parallel teams. (Bose)
- Acquisition Research. Conducted an on site ‘due diligence’ analysis and a recommendation report, to the company President, for a direct marketing company acquisition. Express Music Catalog. (Bose)
- ERP Software Cost benefit analysis. Assisted a high tech engineering and manufacturing company with an ERP software system cost benefit analysis. Worked for the President and CFO. Project Manager. (Dover Instruments)
- TQM Program. Assumed a leading role in driving a company’s Total Quality Program. Created a Total Quality Advisory Resource network of advanced TQ practitioners to coach facilitators throughout the company in the use of TQ and Six Sigma problem solving tools and techniques. Led many teams in root cause analysis, problem solving and process improvement using Six Sigma and TQ management tools. (Bose)
- Facilitation Skills Training. Created and Taught a Facilitation Skills Training Course that was offered as part of the core management training curriculum for the company. (Bose)
- Global Product Coding System. Led a President sponsored project for the planning and implementation of a worldwide product coding and manufacturing part numbering system. Project Manager. Reduced from 12 different global coding systems to 1 code for sales and distribution integrated and cross-referenced to a finished goods manufacturing part numbering system.
- Global Bar Coding System. Led a worldwide project implementing a bar code labeling and distribution system in six manufacturing plants and four distribution centers. Project Manager. (Bose)
- IT Hardware Upgrade Project. Project manager for the purchase and implementation of replacement computer hardware in 8 European countries. (Bose)
- Project Accounting & Control System Development. Project manager for development of a project accounting and control system, used by Engineering and IS for tracking and financial reporting of company capital projects. Designed the entire system. (Bose)
- Leadership Development Program. Customized and Taught a company’s first Leadership Development Program. Based on the Dooley Leadership Development model that is also used by the Society for Information Management (SIM). Three days offsite every other month for 18 months for approximately 15 high potential participants from IT and Finance. (Bose)
- Leadership Development Program. Led a 4 person team, and worked closely with Firm senior partners in creating a 3 day Partner Training Course (meant to groom senior managers chosen for transition to Partner) A ten month relocation assignment to Accenture’s Chicago Headquarters. (Accenture)
- Bose Business Consulting Group. Started & managed the internal business consulting group to the Executive level. (5-8 “big 4” manager level consultants) Group Manager and Lead Consultant. Strategic Planning, Organization Change Management, IT Project Management, Process Consulting, TQM and Continuous Improvement efforts.
- Oracle Sales Organizational Development and Cultural Change Management. New England Oracle Effort to change from a traditional sales approach to a consultative style characterized by value based selling and a “trusted advisor” culture.
- Import Company Business Start Up. Eur Americas Trading Corp. A wine importing company, with secured supplier contracts in Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Belgium. Planned and set up the entire business with all federal and state licenses, supplier contracts (arranged at wineries on site in Europe), import logistics & operational processes.
- Home Improvement company start up. “Affordable Handyman” in the home improvement construction industry in central Massachusetts. A small business of 11 employees engaged in handyman and remodeling engagements. The business was set up with a franchising opportunity in mind. Set up the entire business, managed operations including estimating, scheduling, customer relations, purchasing and all accounting and management functions. Sold business after one year of operations.
- Product Coding & Bar Coding Processes. Wrote a comprehensive Bar Code Manual, primarily for use in Europe, explaining product codes, bar code labels, how to correctly read serial numbers and set up product tracking systems and transshipment violation identification. (Bose)
- Banking Systems Improvement. Worked with numerous banks including Douglas National, New Hampshire Savings and Bank of Newport to conduct IT planning, operations audits and resolve computer programming and process issues.
