  • IHG Global Hotel Turnaround. Led the Asia Pacific region of a global UK hotel company through a significant organizational change and global restructuring turnaround of its business.   • MRO Supply Chain Joint Venture Start Up. Managing Director for a NYC based U.S. start up of a B2B eCommerce Supply Chain joint venture of two global German companies (Deutsche Bank and SAP). NYC, Frankfurt & Walldorf, Germany. An office MRO eMarket featuring SAP/Commerce One technology, a collaborative supply chain concept within a comprehensive eProcurement business model. Managed set up of the U.S. operation. Frequently worked with the senior management team in Germany.
  • Consumer Electronics Turnaround. Directed the turnaround recovery of the Bose European Home Entertainment Division across 16 countries in Western Europe as part of a 3-year expatriate Change Management assignment.  Selective Distribution strategy, implementation of new models and processes for conducting field sales, marketing and back office operations. Customized strategy development and implementation for each country. From record losses to record profitability. Director, Project Manager and Strategic Planning Facilitator. Lived in Bad Homburg (Frankfurt), Germany. Became fluent in speaking German. Received a President’s Award for turnaround of Bose Europe.
  • Retail Sales Division Start Up. Directed and managed the start of the European BOSE Retail Direct Division. From green field to operating business. Market studies, Site selection, lease contract, business infrastructure, processes and financial models, all operations, hiring, compensation models, POS systems. Enabled by breakthrough financial presentation to BAA MacArthur Glen resulting in a favorable leasing agreement. First operations in Cheshire Oaks, near Manchester / Liverpool, UK.  Legal and Real Estate contractual work done in London, UK.  Market research and site selection work from Edam, NL & on location throughout the UK.
  • IT Function Start Up-Tokyo. Planned and Initiated an I/S Dept for a Japanese sales, marketing & distribution subsidiary in Tokyo. Project Manager. Planned data center and systems, hardware negotiations and acquisition, software business requirements and implementation partner selection, IT personnel. 10 months in Tokyo.   • Global Product Coding System. Led a President sponsored project for the planning and implementation of a worldwide product coding and manufacturing part numbering system. Project Manager. Reduced from 21 different global coding systems to 1 code for sales and distribution integrated and cross-referenced to a finished goods manufacturing part numbering system.
  • Global Bar Coding System. Led a worldwide project implementing a bar code labeling and distribution system in six manufacturing plants and four distribution centers. Project Manager. (Bose)
  • IT Strategic Planning & Budgeting. Made annual trips to Europe to manage and facilitate IT strategic planning and European IT budget preparation. For Bose Corporation, as Manager of Business Systems Planning and Manager of Business Consulting in an additional role as International IT Coordinator. 1987-1995.
  • Subsidiary Computer Systems Upgrades. Project manager for the purchase and implementation of computer hardware in 8 European countries. (Bose)
  • Bar Coding, Product Coding & Product Tracking Manual. Wrote a comprehensive Bar Code Manual, primarily for use in Europe, explaining product codes, bar code labels, how to correctly read serial numbers and set up product tracking systems. (Bose)
  • Fashion Designer Technology Plan. Created a comprehensive technology plan for a large retailer and multinational producer of fashion apparel operating in MA and Singapore. Project Manager. (Mast Industries, The Limited)
  • New Company Technology Plan. Planned the I/S function for a Fortune 500 divestiture (new company start up) with multinational operations. Scope included a new HQ & business operations center, 4 manufacturing plants, 2 data centers & migration of data from GTE’s main data center. Two manufacturing plants outside of the U.S. (Challenger Electrical Equipment Corporation)
  • Wine importer Supplier Agreements. In person supplier selection and contract development with vineyard owners in Spain, Germany and European distributors in Belgium. (Eur Americas Trading Corp.)
