- A third party assessment can often identify new opportunities due to tendencies for organizational group think, the advantage of political neutrality and consultants exposure to what other companies are doing or have done.
- A third party assessment is often useful in raising ideas/opportunities that are sometimes difficult for insiders to bring forward due to personalities, historical sensitivities (“sacred cows”) or self preservation (avoidance of “shoot the messenger”).
